Intensive EMDR therapy & Weekly EMDR Therapy in Connecticut

Meet Laura

Hi, I’m Laura.

I'm genuinely glad you're here. Not in a cliché way. In an "I get it. Starting something new when you've already done so much work can make your stomach flip" kind of way.

I'm a deep feeler. An inquisitive thinker. Someone who's done my own hard work in therapy and knows what it's like when insight doesn't automatically translate to feeling better.

I know what it's like to have a brain that moves fast and a body that doesn't always follow. To feel the frustration when the things that used to work no longer help. To be thoughtful and self-aware and still feel stuck.

I approach therapy with steadiness and intention. I’m thoughtful about pacing. I pay attention to nervous system cues. I believe depth requires both safety and structure.

In the therapy room.

In my office, you'll find me sitting next to my water bottle, cup of coffee, and chapstick no matter the season. I usually get up once a session to grab a prop or to use my whiteboard to visually map something out. I love a good externalization moment and I like making the work visible and organized.

If we're meeting virtually, my rambunctious cat, Izzy, might briefly make an appearance on screen. If you're home and have pets, they're always welcome to come say hi. If we're in person, yes, I would love to see a picture of your critters!

We might talk about the best coffee creamer (Chobani is 10/10, by the way) or share a laugh about something that came up during the week. Those little moments matter because they remind us this is two real people doing this work together.

I show up warm, smiling, ready to work and grounded enough to sit with the hard moments when they come. You don't need to perform here. You don’t need to prove how self-aware you are here. You don't need to have the "right" reaction.

You get to be human. And I’ll help us stay steady when things feel big.

Outside the therapy room.

When I'm not in session, I'm feeding the other parts of me.

You might find me attempting (and re-attempting) the elusive puff
pastry or deep into a Netflix binge with my spouse. I love tending to my ever growing house plant collection with many propagations making their way to my office. I am always happy to share clippings with fellow plant people!

My wise, sweet dog, Gavin, keeps me grounded, my spunky cat, Izzy, keeps me on my toes and my horse, Heller, gets a lot of my heart out at the barn.
