intensive EMDR therapy in ConnecticuT

When healing needs more space.

EMDR intensives for adults who are ready to do focused, concentrated work and want a clear beginning, middle & end.

You understand your patterns. You've done enough work to know where things come from. But there's something that hasn't fully moved. You have a sense that what it needs isn't more weekly sessions. It needs time.

Real, uninterrupted time.

That's what an intensive is.

A defined arc of work

An intensive is a concentrated block of EMDR therapy with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Not open-ended. Not picking up where you left off next week. Not losing the thread mid-session because the hour is up.

Just you, the work, and enough runway for your nervous system to actually complete something.

EMDR works by helping your nervous system process what it's still carrying — not by retelling the story in detail, but by working directly with what's stored underneath the thinking. In weekly sessions, that work happens in pieces. There's real value in that. But some things need more space than 50 minutes allows. The intensive format creates the conditions for deeper work in a single sustained container.

This format works well when:

You're working with another therapist and want to add a focused piece of EMDR work alongside your existing care.

You want something contained and intentional. A defined piece of work, not indefinite ongoing therapy.

Your schedule doesn't lend itself to weekly sessions, but you're ready to do real, concentrated work.

How it works

Everyone starts the same way: a free 25-minute consultation call to talk through what's bringing you in and whether this approach feels like a fit. From there, a 90-minute intake where we map what you're carrying and what you want to shift. If an intensive is the right format, we schedule the 3-hour processing block. We work together to determine how many processing blocks will support you. The work closes with a 60-minute integration session to land what shifted and figure out what, if anything, comes next.

A note on fit:

An intensive is not crisis intervention and not meant to be a shortcut to healing. It works best when there's enough stability to go deeper and when the nervous system has some foundation to work from.

If you're in an acute crisis or have never done any therapeutic work, a different starting point is likely a better fit. We'll talk through that on the consultation call and explore options.
