EMDR therapy for Women | ConnecticuT

Release the past, feel more present.

A space to untangle patterns & move toward lasting change.

You feel stuck despite your efforts.

You’ve already done so much work on yourself.
Read the books. Tried therapy. Pushed through on the hardest days.
And yet, your chest still tightens, your mind won’t stop racing, and you feel like you’re bracing for the next wave to hit.

You’re not broken. You’re not failing.
Your body and brain are simply holding onto experiences they haven’t been able to release yet.

Why EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is more than a technique, it’s a whole framework for understanding how past experiences still show up in the present. Instead of endlessly rehashing stories, EMDR helps your brain and body release what they’ve been holding onto.

Sometimes that looks like talking through patterns, sometimes it’s building grounding skills, and sometimes it’s connecting past events with present struggles. However it unfolds, the foundation is the same: loosening the grip of the past so you can live more fully now.

You’ll have space to:

Soften perfectionism and people-pleasing patterns

Ease anxiety and overthinking

Release grief or trauma that still feels close to the surface

Reclaim calm, clarity, and freedom in daily life

The details.

  • 55 minutes once a week.
I only offer weekly therapy because it gives the work a steady rhythm and helps changes take root. With weekly momentum, therapy becomes less about “catching up” and more about creating the space to really work on the heart of what’s keeping you stuck.

Over time, as you progress and are ready to phase out of our work there may be room for flexibility.

  • Intake session (90min): $300

    Ongoing weekly sessions (55min): $200

Cash, Check, Credit, HSA or FSH accepted

  • I am mostly an out-of-network provider*, which means I can give you paperwork (a “superbill”) to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

After years of navigating the rules and red tape of insurance companies, I realized I was spending more time justifying care than actually providing it. That didn’t sit right with me. I chose to step outside of most insurance networks so I could focus fully on my clients—their needs, their pace, their goals.

This way, our work isn’t shaped by outside limits. It’s shaped by what feels most meaningful and helpful for you.

*That said, I am still in-network with Cigna as of Fall 2025.

FAQs:

  • I do both online and in person.

  • Each 55-minute session begins with checking in. From there, we use EMDR tools to work with the memories, emotions, or patterns that feel most present for you. Some sessions may focus on grounding and building coping strategies, while others go deeper into reprocessing past experiences.

It’s worth noting: EMDR isn’t just about eye movements. It’s a comprehensive therapy framework that helps us look at how the past is still affecting you in the present. Sometimes that work looks like talking, sometimes it looks like structured EMDR techniques—but all of it is grounded in the same approach to help your brain and body finally find relief.

  • In weekly sessions, we go at a steadier pace, building momentum over time. This can feel grounding and consistent, especially if you’re newer to EMDR. Intensives allow for longer stretches of work in fewer sittings. Some clients do one or the other, and others do both depending on their needs.

  • That’s actually very common. Many of my clients have done talk therapy, read books, or worked hard on personal growth. EMDR is different because it’s not just about insight—it’s about helping your nervous system finally release what it’s been carrying.

  • Eye movements (or other kinds of bilateral stimulation) are one tool we sometimes use—but EMDR can also involve talking through patterns, building grounding skills, and making connections between past and present.

If you’d like a deeper explanation about EMDR, EMDRIA has a helpful video here. It’s a bit lengthy, but worth a watch!

  • There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Some people find relief in a few months, while others prefer longer-term support. What matters most is that therapy matches your goals, pace, and capacity.

It is never my goal to keep you in therapy for forever. It’s my job to work myself out of a job! I want to support you in feeling better, meeting your goals and feeling confident to live among the changes you have made!

If you’re ready for steady support & lasting change, weekly EMDR therapy can be that container.

I'm ready!
